10 Must Visit Coffee Shops in St. Pete, Florida

I’ve been in St. Petersburg over the last few months and of course had to explore the countless coffee shops here. I have been pleasantly surprised to say the least with how many incredibly unique spots there are.

When I came back to Florida a few months ago, I was not expecting St. Pete to be such a hot spot for coffee shops, but to my surprise, there are so many! If you are looking for good coffee spots, St. Pete absolutely has you covered. You can spend months trying them all and I promise you won’t get bored.

Whether you want a super chill coffee spot to read, a cute spot to enjoy with friends, a productive place to get some work done or a cute cafe with gluten free baked goods, St. Pete has some of the best coffee shops. I’ve spent the last few months popping around exploring all of them, so hopefully you can find one (or a few) that you love from this list!

In no particular order, here are my top coffee shop recommendations in St. Petersburg, Florida.

The Best Coffee Shops in St. Pete

1. Pistil House

Pistil House is somewhere you have to check out simply for the environment. It’s such a cute cafe located in St. Petersburg where they have flowers, beer, wine and coffee all in one spot.

To my surprise they did not have an espresso machine, however, I had an iced matcha the day that I went and it was delicious. They serve snacks and charcuterie starting at noon, but the place is absolutely quaint and beautiful both inside & outside. They don’t have wifi, so this is a great spot to take a book to read or go with friends and family for a chill spot to hang out. You can also create and purchase your own bouquet of flowers inside, it’s such a cute idea.

2. Black Crow Coffee Co.

I stumbled across Black Crow Coffee when my mom and I were downtown on Mother’s Day. They have a few locations in St. Pete. I ended up getting an iced cortado which was new to me, but I loved the less milk than a latte vibe. They are big on zero waste, so you can bring your own mug in if you’re like me and like your hot coffee in a ceramic mug. It’s super eclectic and has a lot of seating both inside and outside.

3. Pete’s Bagels

I didn’t go to Pete’s Bagels for the coffee (I obviously went for the bagels), however, they had such good coffee that I needed to add it as a spot to check out. They make their bagels from scratch, daily. The cafe is really spacious inside with a lot of seating.

I got a cinnamon raison bagel with strawberry cream cheese and my mom got the onion and garlic with regular cream cheese. We shared so we got the sweet and savory combo (my fave). Definitely recommend for a good bagel spot in St. Pete that also serves great coffee!

4. Bad Mother

Bad Mother is such a cool coffee shop. It’s located inside of Station House which is a coworking space in St. Pete. They serve Pete’s Bagels plus have some other food options on their menu like a breakfast burrito and empanadas.

They don’t have wifi available unless you pay for it through Station House, so make sure you show up with your hotspot ready if you are going to work. Coffee was amazing and it is one of my favorite spots to work at in St. Pete as there were countless other people working which always makes the environment feel more productive.

5. Craft Kafe

Craft Kafe is a staple for me and my family. Every time I have visited home the last 9 years from California, we would always go to Craft. They have 2 locations in St. Pete and are 100% gluten free. They use stone milled flours for all of their baked goods.

They have one of the best omelettes I’ve ever had from a coffee shop and the gluten free bread that it comes with is incredible. You really can’t go wrong with anything from their menu or from their baked good case. If you are looking for a gluten free coffee shop in St. Pete, Craft is definitely my highest recommendation!

6. Bandit Coffee Co.

Bandit Coffee Co. is a locally owned cafe and coffee roaster in St. Pete. They have a full espresso bar and breakfast menu with both breakfast and some lunch options like a vegan burrito, sausage egg and cheese biscuit, egg sandwiches and chicken caesar wrap. All of the baked goods are made in-house and they have multiple vegan options on their menu.

My mom and I both got a croissant. I got plain and she got the almond. They were both incredible, but we definitely could have shared one with how big they were! If you’re looking for a good spot for breakfast in St. Pete with great coffee, definitely check out Bandit. They usually have a really long line, especially on the weekends, but it’s totally worth the wait in my opinion.

A note if you’re wanting a spot to work at: they don’t have wifi, so keep that in mind.

7. Intermezzo Coffee & Cocktails

Intermezzo is a specialty coffee shop and craft cocktail bar in St. Pete. It is such a cute coffee shop. I went one morning, got a cappuccino and read for like an hour and a half which was a dream. It’s so cute inside and well lit. It’s located right on Central Avenue in St. Pete. They have a really good chocolate chip cookie too if you’re wanting something sweet with your coffee.

They offer coffee, beer, wine and tea. They even have things like kombucha and house made lemonade. If you’re wanting something good to eat after you grab a coffee or matcha, pop right next door after to The Sourdough Co and grab breakfast or lunch there.

8. Coffee Concrete

The absolute coolest coffee shop in St. Pete is Coffee Concrete. It’s in this industrial like concrete building and they have the coolest decor inside. It’s definitely a great spot to just hang out at in St. Pete. They have a DJ on the weekends and have a brunch menu. I got the breakfast burrito with turkey sausage and it was insanely good.

I got a regular cappuccino the first time I went and a cortado the couple times after that and their coffee is really good. I tend to lean towards base espresso drinks at coffee shops and don’t usually go for specialty drinks, but their specialty drink menu looks really good.

It’s located in the heart of the St. Petersburg Art District and felt like I stumbled across a hidden gem in St. Pete!

9. Paradeco Coffee Roasters

Paradeco has quickly become one of my favorite coffee spots. Before I came back to Florida in February, my brother and I were already talking about how we wanted to go here. They are located in downtown St. Pete pretty close to the pier. They have a full breakfast and coffee menu with a range of options from breakfast plates to smoothies.

It’s the cutest coffee spot and they source and roast their own coffee and you can taste the difference. I’ve also had their matcha latte (both hot and iced) and they were both made extremely well. I am very picky when it comes to matcha, so I highly recommend this place if you’re looking for a good matcha in St. Pete.

If you want a great coffee shop to go to in St. Pete where you can have an awesome breakfast and even get some work done, Paradeco is the spot. You can even go for a nice walk on the huge St. Pete pier afterwards if it’s not too hot out.

10. Say Coffee House

Say Coffee House recently opened in downtown St. Pete. It’s a Vietnamese coffee shop serving specialty coffee, green tea and matcha drinks. It’s located right on Central Avenue in downtown and it’s been busy since it’s a new coffee shop.
